In the first half of the year, dental technicians’ wages increased by more than 10% year-on-year. In the first half of 2023, the average monthly salary of a dental technician in the Czech Republic was CZK 38,957 (USD 1,740). This is CZK 4,334 (USD 193) higher than in the same period of 2022. In the first half of 2022, the average salary of a dental technician was CZK 34,623 (USD 1,546), an increase of 13%. This is one of the most significant year-on-year increases in recent times.
The median salary of a dental technician also rose significantly
The median wage of dental technicians also rose significantly, which divides dental technicians into two equal groups according to income and thus helps to understand how income is distributed between workers. In the first half of 2022, the median income of a dental technician was CZK 31,758 (USD 1,418) and in 2023, for the same period, it was already CZK 33,882 (USD 1,513). Thus, the median salary of a dental technician increased by 7% and half of all dental technicians received a salary higher than CZK 33 882 (USD 1,513).
In the “state sector”, salaries for dental technicians have risen minimally
Salaries of dental technicians working for public employers have risen minimally. The average year-on-year increase was only 1%. In the first half of 2022, the average salary of a dental technician working for the state, municipalities or regions was CZK 43,198 (USD 1,929). In the same period in 2023, the average salary was only slightly higher at 43,712 crowns (USD 1,952).
Similarly, their median increased in the first half of 2023. The median average salary of a dental technician increased by 2% for public employers. Specifically, from 42,244 crowns (USD 1,886) in the first half of 2022 to 43,296 crowns (USD 1,933) in the first half of 2023.
