The average salary of a dental technician in the Czech Republic surpassed the EUR 1,600 mark for the first time. Specifically, the average monthly salary of a dental technician in 2023 was 40,362 Czech crowns, which is 1,624 euros.
According to the Average Earnings Information System, which is managed by the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, average wages in dental laboratories have increased by 7% year-on-year compared to 2022. While in 2022 the average monthly wage in a dental laboratory was EUR 1,515, in 2023 it was already EUR 1,624. The average salary of a dental technician has thus surpassed the 1600 euro mark for the first time.
The wages of dental technicians grew similarly to the national economy
The increase in wages in dental laboratories was similar to that in the national economy. While wages in dental laboratories rose by 7.1% year-on-year, the overall average wage across all occupations rose by 6.8% to €1,840 in 2023. The relationship between the average wage and the average wage of a dental technician is shown in the graph below.
Other health professionals in the Czech Republic take more
Although wages in dental laboratories have risen, they still haven’t caught up with those of other health professions. The average wage in the healthcare sector in 2023 was €1,840. Physiotherapists without specialisation, General Nurses, General Nurses without specialisation, Pharmaceutical Assistants, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Paramedics have higher average wages than Dental Technicians, as shown in the table below.
